1. Preparation
Please download one of the manuscript templates (below) provided by the Journal of Eye Movement Research. The templates help the authors to structure, layout and format the manuscript according to the guidelines of the APA (American Psychological Association). They contain all required style-sheets, as well as further instructions and guidance.

Note: The template provides a two-column layout. For wide figures or tables, it is possible to merge the columns locally by inserting two layout breaks: one before the artwork and one thereafter (in order to recover the two-column mode).
2. Submission
The Journal of Eye Movement Research only accepts exclusive submissions, i.e. the principal author must declare that the manuscript or parts thereof have not yet been submitted or published elsewhere. This fact has to be declared in the Copyright Transfer Agreement (below). Violations of this agreement constitute a fraud.

3. Revision
The editors of the journal will take care of peer reviews of submitted articles which will be processed electronically through a Web-based peer-review processing system. In addition to members of the editorial board of the journal, recognized specialists in the research area of the article will be asked for reviews. Based on the journal's review criteria, they will provide detailed feedback to the author and recommend the manuscript for acceptance, revision or rejection. The editor in chief will decide about acceptance. The decision for acceptance might include requests for revisions of the submitted article in which case the author is expected to resubmit a revised article together with an item by item list of changes as soon as possible, but not later than 4 months after receipt of the editorial decision.
Review criteria
The final decision about acceptance of the article will be made by the editor in chief taking into consideration the recommendation of the reviewers on the quality of revisions. In the positive case, the article will be published immediately in the current issue of the journal.
4. Publication
For the publication, we need a manuscript file that adheres to our standards for formatting and styles, as well as a separate file in appropriate format for each figure listed in the article. Furthermore, you must have accepted the Copyright Transfer Agreement.

Finally, your article will be published in the actual issue of the journal. Each issue will be announced to our international subscribers.
